32 53s: AFC South Pre-Training Camp 53-man Roster Projection
My initial roster projections for the Texans, Jaguars, Colts, and Titans
Below, you can find my 53-man roster projection for the AFC South. You’re welcome to share my graphics wherever you please, just so long as you tag my social account or direct them back here! You can even share the graphic below and mark it up with any disagreements you might have! More info on my process can be found here.
Texans
As far as 90-man rosters go, the Texans have the deepest in the league in my opinion. Houston is packed with veteran talent. By my count, they’ve got 39 players playing under vested contracts, second most in the league.
Jaguars
Jacksonville’s draft night trade up for Travis Hunter kicked off a new era of Jags football in style. Even before draft night, Jacksonville’s new regime was active in making this roster their own. Just 44 players remain on the Jaguars roster who finished out last season with the team. I wouldn’t be if the Jaguars look to add a receiver and I also think they’re going to have to part ways a couple offensive linemen who could make a roster elsewhere.
Colts
The Colts had a quiet offseason compared to their division mates, but they still managed to add a pair of strong DBs in Ward & Bynum. Linebacker is perhaps a spot where Indianapolis may look to add a little depth in the lead up to the season.
Cam Ward isn’t the only new face in Tennessee. The Titans moved quickly to restart their rebuild this offseason, bringing in a league 25 players from outside the organization in addition to making 9 picks in the draft. Ward’s college teammate Xavier Restrepo expected to be drafted, but wound up joining his QB as a preferred free agent. I think he’d have a decent chance on many other teams, just maybe not one with plenty of spots already locked up.
Hard to disagree on the Texans except the following: Tommy Togaia might be higher than dark horse. And Juice Scruggs is OC3 at the moment, Jake Andrews is OC1. Next week I’ll get to see if that is holding true.
